Flower Baskets and Sleeping on the Sofa

Aldi had flower basket plants on sale, so I bought some on Friday.  I planted them yesterday.  They came in a set of six mixed plants.  I did two baskets, planting four different plants in each basket.  That meant there were two plants each ot two different kinds of flowers.  I'll put them in the patio planters out back.  I also got more bedding and planter plants.  Those need to be done yet.  Into the baskets I put

Lobelia Richard II (unfortunately a pale blue, not a dark one)
Lysimachia Goldilocks
Surfinia Hot Pink 2005
Verbena Red

Let's see what happens.  The front porch gets the morning sun, so if it is a nice summer, the baskets might get scorched.  If it is a dull summer, they might fail, or then again they might look glorious.  There is no telling.  This flower basket stuff is hit and miss for me.  I suppose whoever put up the hooks should have put them a little bit further in under the overhang so the plants wouldn't get scorched on sunny mornings, but I'm not going to move them.

I went to be late last night, having stayed up to listen to the Derby.  Hubby was already asleep when I went in.  Shortly after I got into bed, he started snoring like a Mack truck.  As I tossed and turned, he did reposition himself, but within a short time he was snoring loudly again.  He's been snoring very loudly the last few nights.  He's complaining of a sore throat, so I guess he has a cold.  Anyhow, at 12:40 I gave up and went downstairs to sleep on the sofa.  It would have been too much effort to sleep in the spare room.  I still haven't washed the linens since mil has left (want a glorious day to dry them outside), and the bed is also piled up with all sorts, mostly clean washing needing ironing/folding and putting away.  :P  So, it was the sofa.  It is rather comfortable, really.  I used the two blankets we keep downstairs for chilly mornings or evenings, and my brand new quilt from my stitiching group (tell you about that later).  It wasn't bad at all.  I did hear them coming downstairs this morning, but they tried to leave me in peace.  Still, I was awake probably about 20 minutes after they came down, so I tidied things up and went upstairs to bed.  I got to sleep more than another hour.  This all means I missed church this morning.  Ah, well.

I hope the flowers do well. They sound lovely! I hope your hubby's throat gets better, and you can sleep in your own bed again!
